Never mix Valium and alcohol.
bubbles, I am not sure that I understand you question.
You are stressed and want to know if;
a) Valium will ease the stress.
b) a glass of wine will ease the stress
c) if a glass of wine+valium will ease the stress.

Valium has little or no effect directly on the heart rate.

Answer a)b)and c) and then perhaps i might be able to answer.

im stressed so wondering if to take a valium to calm down heart beat or to have a glass of wine, no not both together. my heart keeps racing cos im agonising over a situation i cant get out of my head.
bubbles...got it.....personally I would go for valium, but this tachycardia needs investigating by an ECG.
Hi bubbles. By trying to sort out the anxiety ie palpitations etc you are only treating the symptoms. If you can try and sort out the underlying problem (ie the situation that is causing you so much stress) then the symptoms should pass.
Is it something you could discuss on answerbank? There are a lot of very kind and friendly people on here who would be happy to listen to your problem. If you don't get it 'out' it may well continue to give you the stressed feelings.
bubbles,
Stick to wine!
Valium can become seriously addictive.
Wine isn't addictive,well not unless you take to drinking very large quantities.
Can you get to your dr and ask for some beta blockers? They steady the heart rate and settle you down a bit.

Valium is more of a sedative, a couple of glasses of wine while on them may increase the effects of both the tablets and the alcohol, heavy drinking on valium can be dangerous so be careful!
