Acceptability is a matter of personal choice. Baby will be safe - there is a plug of mucous within the bith canal that will prevent the entry of any semen. Abstaining during the later stages is probably more a matter of comfort and inclination - or lack of both!

Perfectly acceptable and safe - however, personally after four months or so I really didn't enjoy it: and I have to say, thankfully, the other half went off it as well.

I have never quite understood how people find it attractive - there's a couple of guys in the office who love it - I find it deeply unattractive.

As long as there are no medical problems, it is certainly acceptable and safe, but you will need to judge for yourselves and both be happy about doing - towards the end of the pregnancy, it can actually induce labour
I would recommend cutting out the chandelier thing though as the added weight could cause some additional problems

Absolutely normal and safe, but you will need to be a bit more creative with some positions.

My wife was a few days overdue, and to speed things up, she was told to have a hot bath, hot curry and hot s3x !!!

Hammer - the same thing happened to me - but without the curry! Can't stand the stuff.
Our doctor practically instructed us to carry on!  De-stressing for the mother (hopefully), and as the uterus tightens the foetus gets used to the idea of being born later (apparently).  When you stop is a matter of personal choice, but there is a hormone that men contain (trying to avoid being banned) that helps start labour and can be extremely helpful
My sexual appetite went through the roof when I was pregnant with my youngest and me and my partner were at it non stop. Some women find their orgasms are especially strong wen pregnant due to hormones and blood flow etc. There's no reason whatsoever why you can't go on having sex right up until the last minute, unless you don't want to or aren't feeling up to it.
