thats made me cry !
Presume everyone is like yourself. If you can be trusted then so can other people.

No, I have never forgiven an unfaithful partner. Everyone's different though and their circumstances.
For Christ's sake....yes.....infidelity is a human failing irrespective of sex.
EVERYONE makes mistakes.....I do.... it takes time to forgive, but of course it can be done.

As long as he/she is not a serial philanderer, I cannot see the problem, even then some partners accept this behaviour.

Not forgiving in my mind is totally sanctimonious.
i have never forgiven an unfaithfull partner nor ever would you just need to take time in a relasionship and really grow to trust the person dont rush into commitment x
Im sorry GB didnt mean to make you cry!!!!

You have to ask yourself why your insecure about yourself, what is the cause of it.

Also about the forgiveness of an unfaithful partner.....Would never forgive, if sum1 could bed sum1 else without a thought for me at the time, absolutely NOT, it depends on the person I suppose, is this person the root cause of you feeling insecure about yourself? If so then I would remove them from my life, its not worth the misery x
It sounds to me that you have been badly let down Ginger Bird. I do not believe that you can forgive an unfaithful partner but you can forgive yourself for being broken hearted.

It may take time and I do hope that you have family and friends to support you.

You cannot make someone want to be with you and infidelity is a sign of unhappiness. If you want to work at your relationship then I suggest Relate. Otherwise, move on. Even if there are children involved.
You can forgive someone's infidelities but building up trust with that someone can take a very long time and there will always be that little seed of doubt in the back of your mind. Time is a healer. I do feel for you.
