i woke up this morning to find a freckle on my stomach that i have never noticed before. it doesn't hurt, is a mid-brown colour but is slightly raised. it doesn't bother me apart from the fact i can't recall ever seeing it before. is it normal to continue developing moles/freckles in your early 20s?

I get them appear all the time, but if you are concerned that it is raised then go and get it checked out by your gp.

I have had some checked before, it's better to be safe then sorry.
Same as me. I even have one on the sole of my foot.

thanks, you've really made me feel better. i thought i was going crazy! and i'm a bit of a hypocondriac so you can imagine what i was thinking. it's really small though and hasn't bothered me so hopefully it'll just stay the same
Well just keep an eye on it. If things start to chnage or your just not sure then go to the gp
I have lots of moles and freckles dotted all over the place - some big, some small, some dark, some light, some flat, some raised, some a bit like skin tags. New ones appear from time to time - you seem to get more as you get older. My Father is similar.

I've never had any problems with any of mine but feel a bit concerned occasionally and so every so often when I am seeing the GP about something else I ask her/him to have a look over them to put my mind at rest.

It is important to seek help if moles/freckles change shape and/or colour, grow or bleed.
I've noticed over the years that I get tiny red spots coming up mainly on lower neck, breasts and stomach. These change into a tiny brown freckle and they get a little bigger. My dermatologist says it's normal; just make sure they don't become raised up or big.
were you eating chocolate in bed ;)
