i am 14 i am 5ft 1 in and weigh 9stone ! am i fat for my age and what exersises can i do to help?

Eh, you're subscribing to the whole Beauty Myth, i.e. someone can only be pretty is they are thin. Well, that's mostly true, but the main thing to remember is to be happy who you are. Started walking like crazy; it's great exercise & it keeps you from snacking, unless you're able to walk and cram Twinkies into your mouth, like I am. Well, bye.
Listen, I hate to break into the teen angst that seems to have permeated the site recently, but if you look in the mirror and you see a fat person you are fat. If you dont you are not. Asking for an answer based on your age and weight is to be perfectly honest completely ridiculous. Here's a radical idea. Ignore what you are told and develop your own sense of worth, not one handed to you by a magazine.
You should try running,cycling, swimming,aerobics,stay off the burgers and eat lots of fruit,and don't let it get you down 9stone does'nt sound heavy to me.
I dissagree, i think you are fat and suggest you try bashing the bishopp at least twice a day.
I agree el duerino. You can only be as beautiful as you feel. No one is fat or thin if they feel happy with themselves and other peoples opinions are just that, their opinions! Have your own! I blame it on the glossy mags that we have so many teenagers asking these questions. If you feel fat you probably are but trying to justify your weight and appearance by asking the opinion of people who do not know you is pointless and will inevitably lead to a heightened sense of negative body image.
There's no way at that weight you're fat. You could do some exercise if you feel you need to tone up, like yoga or stretching but don't go on a diet because you'll only mess up your metabolism. Ignore the sarcastic comments as well, some people love to belittle others when they aren't feeling their best.
By encouraging young girls to keep posting "am I fat?" on this site we are going to end up with threads and threads of mind numbing drivel by self obsessed people. Take the time to excercise and eat good food then you will feel and look better. I still stand by the point I made earlier, you are only fat if you think you are!
