Its called sleeping paralysis -usually stress related.

Its mega scary -its when your body goes into the second stage of sleep before your mind does.

Once you know what it is you can- with a lot of effort jolt yourself out of it -its worse when you dont know whats happening though -that makes you more anxious so perpetuates it.Best to keep calm and it'll pass.eventually.

My ex husband knew I suffered from it so when he heard my breathing changing he would shake me out of it-not so easy when youre on your own tho.

It will pass and you will get over it. -just try to relax.
maybe if u didnt snort $h!t it wudnt happen?? sick freak!
Who me ???

The only thing i put up my nose is my finger !!

no i was talking to white!
Its terryfying bez -specially the first time -glad you havent had it since -sorry to hear the circumstances (:
I've had it a few times but only my eyes, I couldn't open them, I tried so hard to but they wouldn't, so I physically pryed them open with my fingers while still half-asleep. Weird stuff.

Cheers bez -funnly enough I havent suffered in the most stressful year of my life -its a bad experience and I would help anyone who didnt know what was happening. Its reassuring to know that others suffer from it -it was ages before I realised I wasnt alone.
Strangley as you said -I wasnt in my bed in my minds eye when it happened -i was always disorienated -what a very scary strange phenonoman -but now I know and understand it -it doesnt bother me now.
Don't take any notice of him Dris!!! he's taking the p out of something which Whitebear said!
Yeah I can see that -if I am shattered I can waken up but usually its in a panic state -which is just as blooming scary.
Lack of sleep is a factor as well as your body is physically exhausted and it overtakes your mind which may still be whirring -hope youre OK with it nokno -good you have your missus to help you tho !
