I think it's normal really - the body needs rest, and going to sleep for a tiny while helps.

See my answer to this, as it may help.

Sounds normal to me having a kip then. I need 8 hours sleep a night but if your not getting that maybe you are just tired!!

I am guessing you get up about 5.30 am for work so if you wanted 8 hours you would go to be at 9.30pm.

So that explains it all - you have a very clever body clock!!
It sounds quite normal. I have to get up at 5.30 3 days a week and 6.30 the rest of the week and Im always nodding off watching tv about 9.30 even if its something I really want to see. I try to get to bed before 10.30 but Im a light sleeper so the slightest thing wakes me up.
If Im invited out at night Im always worried about how Im going to stay awake
i dont sleep much myself average is about 3-6 hours a night. You could try drinking some expresso or other stimulants to keep yourself going but personaly i wouldnt have a problem with nodding off around then. If you find yourself falling asleep at during the day this can be due to stress.
I'd say this was perfectly normal.

If you work from 6.30 in the morning, i'm assuming you get up about 5.30am? Then you work 11 hours....I'm not surpised you fall asleep in the early evenings.

To be perfectly honest if I did all of the above I'd be in bed, zonked, after teatime every day!
bertie, I am up at 6am for a 7am start, I finish at 4 though. I am usually sleeping at about the same time as you are, if not, then fading fast.

I don't think there's anything wrong with you at all, it's pretty much a normal amount of time to be awake before feeling the need to sleep.

I'm like a bear with a sore head if I don't get roughly 8 hours sleep.
It's called middle age.

You also probably wake up needing a pee.
it depends on your age fitness level and the time you are getting up, if you want to start to stay awake try coffee maybe, and when you feel tired do some exercise and take a dog out if you have one for a walk
When I sold bodycare and natural products I was always being asked by people what they could do to stay awake at the end of a long working day, cooking the evening meal, sorting the kids out, tidying the house, ironing etc.etc.

Just when did people lose the plot about the working day followed by a nights sleep of around 6-8 hours?

Its worked well for a very long time so why do people expect to be active for 18-20 hours without the body demanding sleep?
