Will it ever get as good as the old days? Since 2000, it really has gone bad...

Probably not. We remember fondly the grainy cartoons of our youth much like we fondly recall childrens TV shows which were in fact, quite crap. Mostly it is nostalgia playing with our happy times but altering those memories by association. But Disney had it, they had it all and they are a big part of many childhoods.

The advent of CGI and many of those hits were produced by Pixar. But Pixar used Disney for distribution and decided to end the multi-billion dollar contract after 2 years of faffing about by Disney. Many laid the blame at former Disney CEO Michael Eisners door. Eisner is said to have ruled the company with an iron fist with gross mismanagement, and many of the Disney clan walked away. Morale was low, but he was ousted in 2005 in the Save Disney War.

Recent non-Pixar Disney movies are naff, and too moralistic, ultimately dull and generally fail at the box office through lack of appeal.

Disney changed at the very core. Of course the company has always been in the business of making money, but at least they were making art in the process. Art, people could identify with.

It seems it will take it a few more years to recover.
