Basically you need to increase your calorie intake, you can do this in a healthy way by eating more carbohyrdrate such as potato, rice and bananas. However if you are naturally thin you may find it doesn't make much difference. I was anorexically thin as a teenager and early twenties but I ate like a horse ( I daren't miss a meal or I lost weight).
Mind you I hit my thirties and the weight went on and stayed and right now I'd be very happy to lose a bit!
Is there any relevance that your name is Atkin?

Mind you the Atkins diet loses it doesn't it?

How about a bit of weight training to build up muscle?

No there is no relevence never had to diet in my whole life. Can take food or leave it never had a big appetite but not anorexic or anything.
You should try to eat a gramme of protein for every kilo you weigh every day, combined with lots of resistance work in the gym, in order to put on weight. I put on a stone in 5 weeks last year and I cycled to work pretty much everyday during that period. If you are more active you'll naturally be hungrier.
You need to get your mind set right. If you set out with the intention of avoiding chocolate, biscuits, bread and pasta then after a few days you will have enormous appetite to eat those prohibited items. That is why most diets fail...abstention makes the heart grow fonder....human nature I suppose.
don't worry bobby, i was always slightly underweight and small as a kid and a teen and wanted to put on weight as a teen as friends used to make comments about my petite figure, but they would admit they were just jealous.

i'm in my twenties now and still register slightly underwieght on the doctors charts but remember charts are calculated by averages. it doesn't mean if you dont hit the target then you look wrong or are ill.

if you are seriously concerned with your weight then go and see your doctor who can calculate how much weight you really need to put on.

however you should do what i do and thank your lucky stars you dont have to wrestle with diets. be happy that you are slim. carry on eating healthily and dont worry about your natural weight.
