70s Cartoons

Does anyone know the name of the 70s cartoon when two asian characters (I believe Japanese) would fight crime or undesirable situations by way of turning into some type of aircraft maybe even a big type of aiplane.?
Actually, there were two main character. One was the son (so his aircraft was smaller) and the other was either the father or the grandfather. I remember watching this about the same time of Ultraman and Godzilla.
I don't remember this being on Saturday mornings and just in case it was regional, I watched this when I lived in Philadelphia, Pa.
