your thinking about it to much!!.................. well done on quitting and it gets easier from here on!

its been 3 years since my last fag and the wheezing stopped a long time ago!!
same as rugleboy - you will just be thinking about it
I am 6 months off, first time I ever managed to give up. Its just easier all the time every minute you do not have a fag, is a minute to it being such a better life for you. You can do it, just keep telling yourself how fantastic you are for fighting off this terrible controlling thing that has been ruining your life although it was dead sneaky and conned you into thinking you enjoyed it - enjoyed that horrible smoke which in any other situation would have had you holding your breath until you could get some fresh air. No it is an evil creature that had control of your life, you are taking control back, it doesn't give in straight away and puts up a bit of a fight but you can win the battle
If you can't stop thinking about it, try self hypnosis.
Its always worked on me
Here's my advice, this worked for me anyway. Take a day off work, go out into the countryside without cigarettes or matches. Spend that day concentrating on the simple thing of not smoking. If there are fields and woods and trees well and good, but just spend the day not smoking. The crucial thing is day one. When you wake up in the morning, you have a whole day under your belt and it will make you feel so much better.

Nicotine chewing gum helps as well. Go for it.

As you mentioned, you will have some adverse reactions from the withdrawl, coughs, colds, the lot, but don't give in !

Trouble with that one whiffey, is that if you see a farmer with a pipe the whole day has been spoilt
Well done, the symptoms you are experiencing are normal.

They will get worse and you will start to cough yellow stuff you didn't even know was present. Remember after 24 hours you body is free from the toxins of cigarettes so don't be tempted to smoke again. The 2 week mark is the hardest, get over this and you'll be ok. Other symptoms include nightmares and dreams that are something else. I became adicted to the withdrawl symptoms. Be prepared, it's a strange experience. Good luck.
