I also eat meat, I was a vegetarian for many years but took meat back up, I don't think it makes it worse at all to eat an animal that has enjoyed a good standard of life, in fact I think it's imperative that they have. Surely you don't really believe it would be better for the animals to have lived in cramped, crowded, filthy conditions and then be slaughtered! (Although really I think we should all get back to basics and only eat meat that we have personally hunted down and wrestled to death with our bare hands!)
I won't use cosmetics that have been tested on animals for the simple reason that it is a completely unnecessary cruelty. Regarding testing on animals for pharmaceuticals, if there is another way I think we should use it, however, I will be the first to admit that should I become ill I certainly wouldn't be questioing whether my medication was ethical.
