it is weird, all my hair stands on end if a touch or even think about something like dry rough wood like a lolly pop stick the feeling when I touch the wood in horrible, and it also happeneds with things like cotton wool. It is even hard to type this because if makes my skin crawl?

I have never really had it before it has just come about resently. Sometimes I can be sat watching TV and feel terrible because I can still feel/remember some cotton wool I touched earlier that day??

My boyfriend hates the feel of silver.

Has anyone else got this problem or a similar problem?? Iam I alone?

Yes to the dry stuff!
I abhor biting accidentally on a ice lolly stick as I am finishing the ice cream.
My big sister is exacty the same - even at 63!

She has to put the wrapper or a tissue around lolly sticks & a tissue around the little wooden spoon when eating from an ice cream tub! She can't even use a wooden rolling pin without putting rubber gloves on first! In fact you can't even mention dry wood in front of her!

As kids, we used to chase her around the garden threatening to touch her arms with our lolly sticks - blimey, she couldn't half run!

I'm fine with wood, but can't bear to accidentally scrape my teeth with a fork!
P.S. When we're out & eating fish & chips, she can't bear to use the little wooden forks - so I tease her with mine, he, he!
my mum hates cotton wool. If you even mention it she starts gagging and has to lick each of her fingers :-)
as 4get says, our mum hates it.
When i had baby CRX she had to go around various shops until she found a cotton wool that didnt squeak so she'd be able to change him when she babysat without having to lick her fingers halfway through (what a horrible thought lol)

Thanks for all the answers, so I am not alone then.

Some very funny answers there though made me laugh.

Licking fingers yes I do that too, it takes away the dry feeling.
yeah i cringe when the ice lolly stick touches my tongue or teech! but weirdly my biggest hate is when i get sensitive teeth i automatically image myself grinding wooly jumpers between my teeth i want some one to knock me out cos i hate it soo much!

People used to say then I was a kid that when u have static on your body like when U have been dragging your feet wearing slippers if your touch wood that gets rid of the static.

So when I get this dry feeling I tend to go round touching stuff, to try and get rid of the feeling.
