Forr the past week or so, Ive noticed a hardish lump in my throat which makes it uncomfortable to eat, and especially weird when Im drinking anything. Its a nightmare in the gym as it feels as if I want to be sick when Im trying to drink water, but I dont. It seems to be at the top of my throat, but despite putting my fingers down my throat as far as poss - urgh - I cant find anything. It seems to move up and down and is sometimes more noticable than at other times, but has been there constantly for the week. Ive tried coughing, being sick and starving myself, but nothing gets rid of it. Has anyone got any ideas of what it could be please as Im quite worried now and have to wait 3 weeks for a docs appointment?
Thanks in advance xx

I have had exactly the same problem a couple of times, I put it down to a lodged fish bone!!
See your Gp to be on the safe side please.
Go to the Doctor right away. Don't ignore this
This sounds as if you really should go and plonk yourself in A&E and get it looked at asap. ..never mind about waiting three weeks for a doctors appointment ....what sort of doctor is this that keeps you waiting three weeks to see them ? Hopefully it's nothing untoward and you soon find out what the problem is ..take care and don't worry too much....get yourself to the hospital.
This is NOT an accident or emergency !!!!!
A & E are not substitues for GP's !!!!
Please go to the surgery if you are really worried and DEMAND to be seen. My daughter works in a VERY busy
A & E and the majority of their patients should be seen by their own GP.
Genuine accident and emergency patients have to wait much longer because of this.
HELLO WELSHFOX,
There is a condition which my wife suffers from that
sounds much like the symptoms you are describing,
Do you know that there is a lump in your throat, or does
it feel as if there is, with my wife she feels as if there is
a golf ball in her throat. Before she was diagnosed
she was very worried about it, the worry made the
sensation in her throat feel 10 times worse.
Any way to cut to the chase this condition is stress
related, if you are worried it causes the muscles
in your throat to tense, thus agrivating the blocked throat
feeling.
But please go to the docs to get it checked out.
good luck.

Thanks for your answers guys - As worried as I am, I wouldnt go to A&E - I know how much of a nightmare it is when people misuse the emergency services - had a call last week saying there were 2 ducks outside woolworths - what is a police officer supposed to do about that???
I'll just have to wait the 3 weeks for an appointment. It's ridiculous but there we go - cant blame the docs, just the hypochondriacs who waste their time every day! I am a bit stressed at the mo, so maybe thats the cause, but I'm gonna get it checked out anyway - fingers crossed its nothing bad. Thanks again xxx
