If you donated one of your kidneys to a member of your family, the a few years later they die of something unrelated, could you get your kidney back?

I know its a morbid question and I'm not faced with the situation, I was just wondering if theoretically this was possible.

would you want it back?
Theoretically it is possible if you had kidney failure and actually needed it back. Highly unlikely.

I know its unlikely but just wanted to know if it was possible. Obviously we were designed to have 2 kidneys, wouldnt it be better to have it back than to operate with only the one.

Just a thought anyway
i suppose if you could finance it yourself then someone would be prepared to do it
