Is there anything you have ever done that even now makes you squirm with horror or embarassment thinking about it??

a silly and funny one but still makes me cringe - when i was at school, me and a group of mates were being taunted by another group of kids, and we were shouting back ... i intended to shout over something informing them that i was going to batter them if they didn't stop shouting - what i actually said was "i'll dye you in a minute"...

i had muddled my words up - "i'll kill you in a minute" and "your gonna die in a minute" became "i'll dye you in minute"
they all shouted "what colour" etc, and of course pished themselves laughing - as did i, and all my mates too.

it did rather diffuse the situation as we were all giggling so much

i once went out with a couple of friends, when i took my jacket they told me i had my top on inside out and back to front.i still cringe
oh god yeah. I cant recall who i was with (so at least my brain has wiped some of it from my memory) but was out with a guy many many years ago and he bought some pistachios. I'd never had any and he offered me some first. I grabbed a couple and threw straight into my mouth.

I almost broke a tooth. The guy said 'theyve got shells on'!

I was so embaressed that i said (through broken teeth) 'oh yeah, i know, but i always eat them like this'. He even offered me more, but i declined lol

Im cringing just writing it.
pmsl @ red
LOL! oh redcrx - that really did make me laugh out loud!!

One moment I'd prefer to forget was quite a few years ago now. I was in the local pub with a mate and we were having a few too many, and laughing and joking with 3 or 4 lads who'd moved into a house a couple of doors away from me. In the end, we accepted their invitation for a night-cap. When we got there, it turned into a bit of a party and a joint was passed round. So I broke my rule of never mixing a smoke with alcohol. Anyway, I felt a bit ill, so I made myself a cuppa. In the end, we were all sat in the kitchen drinking tea. Just as I'd necked the last drop I suddenly felt very ill, and instantly threw up. But managed to catch it all in my cup, to a round of applause! Soooo embarrassing!

When trying to impress a girlfriends parents at dinner - They asked me if i wanted any Gambozola. I said "No thanks Im driving"

It was explained to me later after they had finally stopped laughing - Gambozola is a type of cheese.

Great first impression - funnily enough it didnt last!
I won't talk about things I have done whilst under the influence ~ they are null & void ;o)

I once asked a woman up the road if she was pregnant. She wasn't.

I now take Charlie Sheen's advice..''never ask a woman if she is pregnant unless you can actually see a baby coming out of her''.
glad you dont do that anymore pippa. Ive had that asked of me twice and its awful. last time was a bride and groom a their wedding, in front of all their guests. they patted my tum and said 'wow, something you havnt told us, congratulations'
I said 'yes, i forgot to tell you, im fat!'
Everyone laughed, another cringeworthy moment
I think that's the worst thing, redcrx ~ I have it said to me too! the most recent was just last week :o(
Eating Pot Pourri on a first date. Thought it was Bombay mix... Oh how wrong was I.

There was something that made me grimace just yesterday but can't remember what it was... hmm.. probably booze related.

Hi Pippa/ Red. I have had it said to me also - I was absolutely mortified!
There are so so many in my life but one that sprung to mind was about two Christmas' ago. We were having a Christmas Do at work and the gaffer came over and asked whether I preferred red wine or white. I said "uurrgh, no I can't stand wine, its disgusting"...to which he replied, "Oh right, I'll nip out and get you some chocolates then instead". He had only bought bottles of wine for the staff in the office. I thought he meant to drink then! And yes, he did go out and get me chocolates bless him. I was so embarrased and felt so bad. Funny though because in the last few months I have started drinking wine but only Rose - still can't stand red or white!
My husband is a musician and I have acted as his manager in the past. Many years ago his band were asked to step in at short notice to support AC/DC, neither of us were particularly familiar with what the band looked like. The drummer was having trouble setting up and I asked the roadie setting up the drums for AC/DC's drummer if he could help. He helped get everything set up and lugged the gear about then disappeared. Imagine my embarrasment when later that night AC/DC went on and the 'roadie' was actually Phil Rudd their drummer!
I think mine has got to be at a christmas party about 5 years ago. My friend had got me drinking tia maria and orange juice (which tastes very yummy) and they were going down pretty well. Another friend asked if i could call her a cab so she could go home so i went to go outside and after about 5 minutes of arguing with the door as it wasnt opening (it opened the other way) someone on the other side opened it to come in, i promtly fell out of the door and some kind bloke caught me and asked me if i was ok. I was fine just confused about the door! I then rang my friends cab and then saw one of my mates being sick round the corner so i went to see if he was ok where i then saw this bloke who had a crush on me. I turned round to this bloke and said 'your that bloke that fancies me aint ya' and proceed to snog the face of him. He then invited me to a party down the road so i ran (stumbled) back into my mate to say her cab was on its way and then went to this party with this bloke. When we got the i said to him 'i want to go home' so being a lovely gentleman he offered to walk me home (i only lived about 3 minutes uo the road) but i said 'no we are going to your house as it is closer' (his house was a good 15 minutes walk away!) then when we got back to his house i told him that if he could get my knee high boots off he could sleep with me!! Luckily enough he didnt take advantage of me and he just let me go to sleep on his bed whilst he slept on the floor!!
Now i see him all the time in my local and i just cringe when i see him!! Luckily we have a laugh about it now!!!
Of course there is another cringeworthy moment..when I think about it I really do squirm, but I was a foolish teenager!

I was 'at it' with my boyfriend in the alleyway behind my house. We were laying down on the pavement. I heard footsteps, and the guy walking along just stepped over us.

*Pippa cringes at the thought*
eeeuuuu pippa, had you no shame?? lol
