Hair Loss!!!!

My friend gave birth 3 months ago but has recently noticed that her hair is falling out quite a lot. She has naturally fine hair anyway, but she says when she brushes her hair, there is a considerable about of it on the brush, also her pillow is covered in it in the mornings!

She knows that its quite common to have a bit of hair loss due to pregnancy/birth, but it is really getting her down.

Are there any vitamins/supplements that she can take to stimulate her hair growth?! (she has every type of volumising shampoo/conditioner available)!!!!!

By the way, she is breastfeeding, will that have anything to do with it?

Thanks everyone !!

She has my sympathy,i went through the same thing and i continued to lose my hair for about 10 months after,i don`t know if there is a connection to breastfeeding or not as i am not an expert on such things but i stopped breastfeeding when my son was about 10 months old,so in my case it seemed like there was.
hormones stop hair falling out during pregnancy, so as the hormones settle down, all the hair that should of fallen out if she wasnt pregnant will fall out. it will settle down as the hormones return to normal, and unfortunately, there is no miracle cure.. she should brush her hair gently and only when necessary, and try not to worry as this wont help matters. she may benefit from regaine for women, but continual use is required, stopping the treatment will thin the hair again, plus it does not work for everyone, hope this helps, x
Hair gets thicker during pregnancy and we dont tend to notice. Then afterwards we do notice when the extra falls out. Hormones do very funny things and it should all settle down. Tell her not to worry I bet no one else has noticed.
