My doctor has put me on Statins, but I've been told that they can make you gain weight or affect weight loss when on a diet. Is that true?

Not sure but I heard about side affects where people's muscles have wasted away
Hi Koiman
My Husband was prescribed Statins a year ago. Never affected his weight in any way but they damage the muscles in his body.
He was taken off them immediately. It does not affect everyone though and I am sure your GP will do regular blood checks on you.
Depends on the dosage as well.I am on 20mg ..one a day..no side effects ..no weight gain .My Sister in law however; was on 80mg for over a year and they made her feel quite poorly...in fact she lost weight and they did damage the muscle .She was put on them after a heart attack .These things affect different people different ways.Check with your GP.
