I have never had a cold sore before and I think I have one now!! It looks like four tiny blisters on my top lip and feels swollen. Does anyone know any remedies or am I best leaving it alone to disappear on its own.

Please help - I feel like elephant woman!!

Don't worry i am here to help!! Short term dab perfume on the blister every few hours this really reduces the swelling!! I know it sounds painful and it is to start with but it really helps! and invest in some Zovirax cream. If you keep getting them, like i used to every week, then start taking vitamin C and Zinc.. i haven;t had one since doing this!!x
Get the zovirax on it. It's too late really, and they will go in there own time, but zovirax might speed process up. Or there's that new compeed patch I've seen advertised? I havent had one in years, so I'm not sure what's best really. Zovirax is best used at the hint of getting one-ice is good at that stage too-and the blister may never appear.
Hope it's better soon anyway. PS Some vitamin C might not go amiss either-dunno whether specifically it will help coldsores but good at this time of year when we're a bit run down!
sorry pinkspangle-when I started you hadn't replied!
try dotting toothpaste on it late at night and sleep with it on it'll dry it rite up, also avoid touching it and then touching another area they spread very easily
