You can get a lump in your throat from an underactive thyroid My mother had this years ago and it's what they call a goitre and is a swelling in the thyroid gland..
It can be removed if it gets too large and interferes with breathing as my mothers was.Nowadays they are more likely to treat it with medication.
I also have an underactive thyroid and take levothyroxine every day .... you should take them first thing before breakfast.
Before I was diagonised I had a feeling of a lump in my throat and that horrible throbbing whch you get.Since being on the medication it has cleared up.
Please don't worry ..I am sure your GP has it all under control and will get you on the right medication and you will soon feel better.
snow - I take thyroxine, as above take first thing in the morning. If you wear makeup, a good tip is to put the tablets in your makeup bag so you never forget to take them!
