Has anyone else had a professional bra fitting? I have a lot of trouble finding a bra that fits properly. I can be anything from 36DD to 38F and any combination in between. If you have had a fitting can you recommend a place to go and how much does it cost? Thanks

With those measurements, I'll do it for free!

I'll get my coat.....................................

Seriously, I've heard the ladies at Marks & Spencer are very good.
Try Marks & Spencers they do a free fitting and are very helpfull
I'd say Marks & Spencer as well.

I've had fittings there loads as i range from a 36G-38F. If you get a good fitter they will go out and find a selection for you to try on and see how they fit and often tell you the best way to put a bra on to get it to fit right, esp if, like me, you're more voluptuous :) They can pick the best bras to sit right, for example I have narrow shoulders so the straps don't naturally sit where they should.

It might be an idea if you go in with an idea of budget and the kind of thing you're after, maybe browse the shelves and pick up things you fancy , even if not in your size necessarily, so they can see the kind of things you like.

Bravissimo who cater for the more voluptuous, also free, also do fittings but there aren't as many of them about. There's a store finder here...

Sizes can change from shop to shop though so be careful. I was told in Bravissimo that M&S measure differently to them so to get measured again in there for their bras.

Thanks for the recommendations for M & S. I'll try them.

And as for you two cheeky boys............I have to give you credit for wishful thinking ; )
dont know where youre from silky, but theres a woman in west brom who is the best in the buisness or so im told.
she`s an indian woman who runs a market stall. shouldnt be too hard to find if youre local.
sorry i cant be more specific, but im just a bloke !
:-)
funky, What do you mean!!! just a bloke?

The superior of the race I may remind you!!!!!! :-)
errrrrr....Ratter!!!! im telling on you
I got mine done in debenhams and was very impressed. Personally I think it varies between makes, as to which size fits you best.

The best thing to do is try various different sizes on and ask the attendant which one she thinks fits you best
i went to m&s they do it there,im a 38dd and was wearing the wrong size bra until i went.they did it for free good luck
M&S is always the best chioce imo. I've had mine done there serveral times over the years and they help you chose a good bra too.
I went into Contessa a couple of weeks back and found that I'd been wearing the wrong size for years. They were really helpful and helped me select a few that fit properly. An added bonus, they've got a great sale on at the moment too.
I know what you mean, I am a 38DD or 38E and this one Im wearing is driving me nuts, keep having to pull it down under arms and at the back and I have trouble with my boobies dropping out of the bottom or spilling out over the top!
I had a similar problem but i was always given different measurement by M&S so i went to Bravissimo and i now have a comfortable fashionable bra and they are still the same price. They are dotted everywhere have a look at the website. www.bravissimo.com

I'm a 32E - F and it's a b*gger to find small around measurements for the bigger breats! I'm quite skinny so i have always found it a problem, but defo Debenhams and M&S... because then they tell you what to look for when a bra doesn't fit :) And it's amazing how much more confidence a good fitting bra gives you - such a relief to know you're not bouncing around all over the place!! Three cheers for the big-boobed ladies out there!! HIp hip hooray...
Yep def M&S, you'll be amazed at how well a good fitting bra affects your posture!
Try John Lewis if there's one near you. They have trained fitters who will measure you and help with fitting. M&S are very good too. Had a not so good experience in Debenhams, but the lady in Harrods lingerie department was excellent even though I decided not to buy anything she suggested!

Don't worry about the numbers and cup sizes - every manufacturer has slightly different standards. As long as the bra fits correctly you will know when its right, and you can always cut out the labels afterwards if you're worried.
hiya silkychicken, i go to bravissimo for larger cup sizes...i was wearing the wrong size for years, turns out i am a 38FF, the fitting is free but the underwear can be quite expensive but worth it!! M&S as others have said are fab too, but with them i am a 36G...but i guess it doesnt matter so long as you are comfortable.

Good luck!!! xx
Hi Silkychicken,

I know you've had a ton of answers but just wanted to mention this quality outfit ....

beautiful shops, merchandise and very helpful staff, you'd only need to visit once for the sizing and fitting then you could order on line after then.

Not cheap but they know their chickens. ;-)
When you have a professional bra fitting do you have to wear nothing on the top ?
Surely they dont measure over your existing bra?
