Just wanted to say to all you men (and some women I suppose) don't put off going to the doctors because, you're too busy or can't be bothered. My father in law has just died from an illness which he should have lived for another 10 years with, but because he put off going to the doctors it was too late.

I hardly visit the Doctor due the demands of modern life - guess I should learn my lesson. Sorry to hear about your loss.
Good, sound, unselfish advice pmorley .
Sorry to hear about your father in law . Mine hubby's dad never became my father in law for similar reasons. He died the year before we got married.
~hug~ so sorry to hear of your loss and thanks i know myself i have to go for a test and have been putting it off for ages - just scared to be honest - anyway i have just this minute rung the drs and booked a time. xx
Same here my partners dad died from not going it was too late when he finally went we lost him 2 months later so my children never got to know their Grandad. The same happend with my Grandad he was still young too.

I say to my partner if you are ill make sure you go please, he never goes unless he really has to.

I keep meaning to go myself as I have a couple dodgy looking moles, I should take my own advice.

I wish you and your family well at this sad time and thank you for making people more aware, while suffering your self.
Sorry to hear about your father in law.

I think the bowel cancer charities ran a campagn a few years ago called "don't die of embarassment" aimed at this
