Thanks for all the resposes i had for my previous post. I have one problem still. Someone suggested i do the following: Go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management then Disk Management where i will be able to Format the partitions. I have tried this but it won't let me Format Drive C or Restore E. Why is this, if you remember my previous post i mentioned that I needed to wipe all drives and start again on C as some of the partitions were infected and my p.c was running very slow. How can i do this? Also it appears quite strangely that i have 'lost' the little 'at' sign on the keyboard, when i press shift and the sign i just get ' . ! Thanks in advance.

i have only read this post and none of ur earlier stuff so i apologise if i am missing something here--i am assuming ur operating system is running from the c drive--u cannot format a drive if u r logged on to it--if u think about it--if u were to format c while running windows from there it would in effect be killing itself--u will have to format c from say a boot disk of some kind depending on ur operating system

I told you exactly how to delete your partitions.

Insert your Windows XP CD in the drive

Boot from the CD by starting the computer with the CD in the drive (you may be prompted with a question Do you want to boot from CD, you say Yes.)

The install starts and you then get the screen shots I showed you on the previous question.

You use option D to delete all the partitions.

You then create a new partition and format it NTFS

Once that is done the install will continue to the end.

Do you live in the Midlands, do you want me to come round and do it for you ?

It will save us all a lot of hassle.
