I dont think any numbing stuff is available. You dont need it anyway, its not sore!!

6 weeks is fine it will be healed by then, providing you care for it properly.

What I meant to say was numbing cream normally not available from tattooists, I dont think they believe in them. You can get cream here:

I would check with the tattooist first if this cream will cause any problems with the ink.

You can use Xylocaine or Emla for numbing - but don't. It's of limited effectiveness! Tattooing isn't THAT sore that you'd need it anyway. Take some ibuprofen before you go, this will take the edge off and stop it swelling afterwards.

Dunno about anyone reputable in Manchester though. Usually tattooing by appointment and if a studio does mainly custom work, those are good indicators that they're up to scratch.
A way to tell how much it'll hurt is to dig your finger nail into the area you are having it done and drag it along...thats how much it hurts...not really at all..mine hurt more just after it was done than during being done and even then it only felt the same as a fresh graze would. So don't worry : )

Louis Molloy in Middleton is very good.
