Everyone at work is boiling so they put the air-con on... I'm sat here shivering... brrrrr. And at home I've got the heating on desperately trying to warm the house up & there's my housemate wandering round in a t-shirt opening windows.

Aside from putting on weight & wearing more clothes, is there anything I can do??

not really, in my house we have the same problem, i'm always hot and need the fan on at night and my husband complains he's freezing and pulls the duvet over his head while i kick my half off and toss and turn cos i cant sleep with the heat, he says i'm mental. have you seen your gp, you could have bad circulation?

I find you adjust to whatever temperature your home is. If you keep the heating up high at home, your body will get used to it and feel cold anywhere else.

Do you eat breakfast? And get enough sleep? Both of these can affect your body temperature.

Also you could get checked out if you have an iron deficiency as this happened to me a few years back

go to the drs and tell him hopefully he will sujest a blood test and it may show up an under active thyroid .if so he will treat it with tablets thats how i was, along with always being tired. hope you get on ok and let us know what you find out
I'm not trying to start a sex war, lo, but i've noticed, in general, the female of the species tends to feel the cold more than the male.
Sorry, I got that one wrong, just stay with my first post.

Could have been me asking that question!
I am not happy until we hit the 30s in the summer!

Could you possibly be suffering from Raynauds? I have it and am always freezing, especially my hands and feet!

Get to the docs and get checked for it! Hope you warm up soon!
I was always like that fairy! until the Doctor discovered I had an underactive tHYROID

Do you smoke? I used to be cold all the time but noticed a big change when I stopped smoking.

Just a thought...

Could be under active thyroid as sweetdor says. i was just the same and very tired too. I am now on Thyroxin daily and I am fine.

Thanks for all your answers guys.

I went to the doc a while ago & had a load of blood tests & nothin showed up.... so I think I'm stuffed... destined to sit here with goose bumps :-( Maybe I should invest in a blanket & sit at my desk all snuggled up under it!

Nope, I don't smoke.
When i used to work on the till at a supermarket years ago i was often placed by the door and got very cold in the winter. When i got home, the only way i could find to get nice and warm again was to have a nice warm bath when i got home. Hope this helps! It always did the trick for me.!
