I'm confused! I hit my brow bone on a cabinet (whilst cleaning...hurendous!!!) over the weekend and I've woke up with a purple eye!!!! The brow bone has swollen up, but there is no bruising....the bruising seems to be the corner of my eye and the actual lid. Anyway, just wondered if anyone knew of any ways in which to hurry along the recovery process....it aches like eck and doesn't look professional whatsoever!!! Also, why is that part of the eye bruised? Odd odd odd.... thanks.

when ever i have had a black eye the discolouration always seems to start on the eyelids etc where the blood vessels are very close to the skin so not well protected (i.e. very easily broken resulting in vivid brusing), then the bruise always seems to radiate outward over the next 2 days to cover the brow area and under the eye (obviously after a very hard knock) i'm all that sure why brusing here takes a day to develop but i am guessing it is due to the blood pooling in the area after the injury...

my advice would have been get a cold compress on it as soon as you did it - now that the bruise is developing i don't think there is much you can do other than get the shades on.

happy healing - undercovers

If you ever hit your forehead you end up with a black eye. I fainted a few years a go and cracked my head. I had black eyes forabout 2 weeks. Someone said something about the blood draining down... I dont know how true it is but it happened to me too.
