Yes, totally possible! Sometimes they can even swell up to 5 times their usual size.
We should clarify that this was reported in the newpaper with regard to clinical trials at Northwick Park Hospital and would have happened in less than a week or overnight.
I read that - to do with the 6 ill on the test drugs.. that is scary
Yes, I saw a photo in one of the Sunday magazine supplements recently which showed a child in Africa with a head which had ballooned up to two or three times its normal size.
poppycock
Oh mr_pointment was that the childs name?
Wendy I saw that photo too. I think it was in Cambodia. It was an awful picture. The photographer said his head was the size of a TV set. I really wanted to know how that happened but there weren't any details. I guess maybe he grew up like that - with the guys in this drugs trial, it happened over a few hours - I can't even imagine what that must have done to their skin. When you think about the stretch marks women get when their belly slowly expands over 9 months...
Totally agree with mr_ pointment. Please can you post some real evidence and not just the headline in the Sun newspaper.

It wasn't the sun - the article can be found on the sunday times website here , unfortunately there are no photos. The child with the swollen head is mentioned in the second last paragraph of the article. Unfortunately our recycling went on wednesday otherwise I'd scan the photo in for you. It was shocking.
