Not sure if this should be here or in parenting. My friend at work is 8 & 1/2 months pregnant and the babys head has now engaged.

We were wondering, when you stand on your head you get a head rush and feel dizzy. Would the baby have this too, as its technically head down at the moment.

We only feel this because of gravity. The baby won't feel gravity because it is floating in lovely amniotic fluid (is that right??!) and is like a man in space.

scarlett is right, we don't get head rushes or dizziness if we turn upside down to swim to the bottom of a lake or river, think scuba or snorkel.

Also, the baby is not having to breathe. When we go upside down, our breathing is also constricted and our muscles are not in the optimum position to breathe effectively. A baby in the womb, however, doesn't have to oxygenate his own blood, his blood is 100%oxygenated all the time with a permanant supply.

I wish we could remember inutero. It must have been lovely!
