In my opinion, you need to go back to the doctors and demand to see a (or another if you have already seen one) gyno. This is not normal and it sounds as though you are being fobbed off. There is something not quite right here methinks and you need to get it sorted out. I would suggest going to see the doctor (and try to get to see a lady GP) when you are actually on your period, only wear one pad and then they will see what a mess you get in.

I really feel for you, it isn't good when you don't get the care you need, but I think you need to see a good specialist who knows more about what he is talking about.

Hope you get it sorted

Go back to your GP and demand a referal to see a Gynaecologist, there is a procedure available for heavy periods its called Endometrial Ablation.
I used to have horribly heavy periods, like you, leaking everywhere. I didn't want a hysterectomy, but I was given a merena coil and it worked wonders. it makes the periods much lighter (mine stopped altogether) and, although some people can get side-effects, i didn't have any. it's worth asking your doctor about.
good luck; i know how awful it is. not to mention the expense of all that protection. and it makes you anaemic.
Do go and see your doctor. I was like this many years ago and ended up having a hysterectomy when I was 39.Before that I was in and out of hospital having DandC's.I had fibroids in the womb. This was getting on for twenty years ago,but now there are other roads to go down if you don't want to have a hysterectomy.I really do sympathise because you have described exactly how I was.Go back to your doctor and make a fuss ..even ask for a second opinion. This is your lifes blood ebbing away and the iron tablets won't help because they make more blood and then you lose it..So you go round in a vicious circle.Get your doctor to make you an appointment to see a gynaecologist asap.Don't take no for an answer and let them fob you off.
I do hope you can get it sorted out and that you feel better soon.Good luck.
