I waited a week recently, then a week for results.
I get them done at my doctors surgery within a few days and results 2/3 days later
Not really LB. In my local trust I requested ,on-line , a blood test on Friday last and had it done this a.m. at 0910. I had several clinics to choose from and the longest wait was about 2 weeks max.
No, quick for us, I book online
GP wanted bloods done, practice nurse did them 10 minutes later and results came back two DAYS later.

As I suspected, it's this wretched area.

Must move back to Yorkshire Dales again!

237 was that at your doctors surgery like Margo? Mine is at my surgery but having read your reply Retro it seems if I can find somewhere to do it quicker then I could go there?

Something sounds very wrong or misinterpreted in your post.

What is the blood test for?
Where do you live now, lb?

I live in Hove (actually).

Sqad I told the doctor I thought I might possibly be Diabetic and she asked me why as my last blood test a few months ago was fine. I told her I had read the symptoms and had several which were on the list. So she told me to get a blood and urine test.
YES, HERE THE NEXT AVAILABLE BLOOD TESTS to book are October. if you dont want to book you can go to a different hospital and turn up and wait
Ah!....so blood test is no big deal....not urgent....not likely to affect your life longevity.

Last test a few months ago was normal, so a wait for another test is not a big deal.
Question Author
I think I will it's too much hassle and no idea where they do urine tests as they're not on the docs list.

If I have to get up for a pee about 10 times in one night again, like I did before I called the doc, then I'll probably find somewhere else and go there. Doc says I have to get a "Blood Form" from them before I can go somewhere else. Never heard of that before.

Sorry should have said I was told to get a Blood and Urine test.
Boots, Lloyds Chemist and Tesco Chemist all offer basic, free diabetes tests if you need to put your at rest
I always have to have a blood test form from the GP, it tells them what to test for and where to send the results to
Ladybirder - mine was at the GP surgery but I think the blood goes off to the local hospital (Kingston)
Question Author
Barry I have to choose very carefully where I go. I have to be able to drive right up to a building where there is a Disabled parking space and only a few steps to walk.

Wish I stlll lived there 237.
Boots also provide a DIY home test kit for £45. https://onlinedoctor.boots.com/hba1c-home-test-kit
The GP wants a urine sample because you are going to the toilet so often - not only can he test for 'sugar' in your urine but nasties that cause urine infections.

I had a blood test and the doctor rang to say he wanted a follow up blood test which was done that afternoon.
