The actual application can be found here (you can see the plans and everything!). It says it’s still under consideration:
https://data.southoxon.gov.uk/ccm/support/Main.jsp?MODULE=ApplicationDetails&REF=P23/S2069/HH
They're going to build a tunnel under the pool so that the newts can cross safely.
Gully, perhaps Boris will invite you round for a dip once it's finished! You are his biggest fan after all.
Fairly standard when gulliver tries to post about something which is extant his sphere of knowledge, which seems to grow less and less by the day.
This on the application form, as the Applicant.
"Anchor Design
Brightwell Manor A Brightwell Street
Brightwell-cum-sotwell
Poles Lane
Wallingford
OX10 0RT"

For some reason it made me chuckle.
ZM: ".....which seems to grow less and less by the day. " - is that like shrinking? :)
A bit like Alice in Wonderland, Tora. He is right about the newts tho!

Footnote to all the radicalised Boris worshippers on this post.
"The countryside planning officer would not recommend planning permission was granted" For those of you on here who have trouble understanding that .
.........It means planning permission was refused, get it. OK good.
You can all go to the playground now .
I am creased here laughing at Gulliver, absolutley hilarious , Boris, Boris and more Boris, if only
That’s the recommendation of a consultant, gulliver, not the planning committee or case officer. You really need to stay in your box of ignorance here as it would seem the planning process is another ‘grey’ area in your knowledge base.
You like to make fun of my comprehension skills gulliver yet have failed to comprehend that "would not recommend" doesnt have to mean "has refused" as its still under consideration.
Not sure this is news.... maybe chatterbank or tittle tattle section
Its OK Bobb, he has called most of us (including NJ) of being thick in the past.

Just ignore him.

I am afraid in the upper circles........ "Would not recommend"........
Is a polite way of saying NO ...lol.. PMSL
"I'm inferior to him" sez he, laugh?I nearly bought a round, haha
Gulliver, as part of the planning process, various bodies / consultants get to have their say. Just because one consultant doesn’t recommend approval doesn’t mean the application will be refused if it goes to committee, or if it is decided by the case officer.
You really don’t want to argue with me on planning matters.
an adviser has no remit to accept or refuse refuse only recommend or not recommend (or ask for more info),
"Does not recommend" could mean "I'm not convinced or would need more information or time to consider, or would need to see minor tweaks before I recommend"

Not sure why am bothering. I wouldnt recommend engaging with gulliver
