I'm now taking 200mg of Doxycycline. I took the first two this morning and have felt really nauseous since.
What's the best thing to eat to help lessen this?

taking them with food, if you're allowed to, often helps (if you haven't tried to do so already). Good luck
it matters not what food you take, the nausea may well persist.

Take your tablets WITH food to alleviate the nausea.
^^^ Sqad: Would there be any point in Tilly asking a pharmacist whether he/she could provide an over-the-counter antiemetic to make things a bit easier for her?

Would yogurt help?
Lots of ginger.
(google "ginger and nausea")

Thank you all for trying to help.
I'll buy some Ginger Nuts for tomorrow's dose.
Good thinking, Gingejbee!

This is 100% effective for me when dealing with travel sickness, so it might well help Tilly2:

Do you just chew a lump of it, Chris?
Just wondering if probiotics would help? What do you think Sqad?
Buenchico.........yes.......but AB has given adequate answers.

I suppose it is a matter of getting as many opinions as possible, by which time the nausea is not a problem ;-)
Probiotics?.......naaaah!
I love the stuff anyway, Tilly2, so I can happily chomp my way through a whole bag of the stuff in one go. I just eat it like sweets. (Some people can't stand it though, so it's obviously not for everyone). Simply chewing a piece or two is probably all that's needed to suppress nausea though.
I'd certainly opt for the crystallised ginger over ginger nuts...way more ginger! Ginger tea made with fresh ginger root is another good way of taking it. (And, yes, just eat the crystallised stuff like sweets).

No need to be so flippant, Sqad.
Those tablets for me are brutal for nausea/ indigestion. I always take with food and sometimes take an anti nausea tablet with them .
Question Author
Not very pleasant is it , Anne?
No Tilly, but I will say they have been effective for me in the past compared to Amoxicillin . I’m sure you will complete the course .
Question Author
I shall, Anne even though it's a three week course.
I couldn't stay on them, Tilly. Made me very sick. Doctor now puts me on clarithromycin.
Question Author
Thanks Patsy. Where you taking them long term?
