i used to suffer from this, dont know if this a pplies to you but i never went to the loo enough, and sometimes went for hours at a time without doing do while at work.by chance, i decided to go more regularly and thats been 2 years and ive been fine ever since.apparently, by retaining urine for too long, this leads to an increase of bacteria in the bladder, so eliminating as often as possible is a good idea
Cranberry juice is supposed to be very effective. Plus, of course drinking a lot of water to flush through the bladder although of course the more you drink, the more you want to pass water which is very painful, but the weaker the solution passing through, the less it will sting.

Cranberry capsules are brilliant if taken everyday, they build up a lining inside the bladder which stops any infection. Or cranberry juice if it is 25% concentrate. And lots of water everyday. Always have a wee after any sexual activity and try pouring warm water on yourself if it burns when you wee. Also making sure you fully empty your bladder is important, leaning back rather than forward when on the loo can really help with this. Hope that helps

also try and make sure you don't need the loo *before* having sex, I believe that's a major cause. It might ruin the moment a bit, but just nip to the loo, it'll save you the risk of getting it again.

The doctor told me that cranberry juice is no better than water for this and that if you dont like cranberyy juice then stick to water or anything made from water!

Dont drink alcohol as that makes it worse!
