morning, Thursday and the beginning of the Queens Platinum Jubilee celebrations, i hope that you are all in good health and that your day is a good one, are you doing anything special today? the forecast is for a high of 20c, with partly sunny skies. Let's hope the rain stays away -

the first part of the celebration is the Trooping of the Colour and later on a fly past by the wonderful Red Arrows, i have seen them any number of times at air shows, but the sight of them flying over the capital never ceases to amaze me.

One of our TV networks is broadcasting the 11pm news from London for the duration of the celebrations. The reporter described the game between Scotland and Ukraine as a "soccer match", and I thought "Oops, the British call it football not soccer."

morning Sanmac, the celebrations will be broadcast round the world,

there are four days of festivities, many people have already bagged a place along The Mall to watch the parades, one lady was interviewed who had come from Canada, and others from all parts of the UK

it's unlikely that we will ever have another Platinum Jubilee celebrations, so 4 days of non stop festivities are in order.

Minty what are you getting up to today?

it will be televised all day i'm sure, and there is always i player if one has missed something.

On, or around, VE Day there were parties and festivities all over the place in Britain. I imagine that it's sort of a repeat of that occasion over there.

it starts at 10am i believe and i will watch it live, but if there is a remotest chance of some sun shine, i will go out and have some al fresco lunch.

only this one is special, the longest reigning monarch of all time, one who has served this country well.
