Boots have a penny sale on at the moment - I have bought many vitamins over the years but do any of you believe in them.

I take a multivitamin+iron pill every day. No idea if it makes a difference, but I assume at least the iron helps.
Unless you have a vitamin deficiency you do not need supplements.
I take vitamin d3 and have done for years, as most of us will be deficient due to lack of sun. I also take magnesium as I was recommended it for migraine. Extra vitamin c in the winter.
Yes, I believe in vitamins...preferably from a well-balanced diet.
We take a vitamin D supplement over the winter months...and that's it.
(Are you sure it's Boots? Normally,Holland & Barrett have the penny offer)
We all take D3 and many of us in this house take supplements for macular degeneration.
Yes I am very ill without my vitamins but that's because I cannot get what I need from my food intake
We also don't absorb nutrients as well as we get older, so another possible reason to supplement.
I believe we need vitamins and supplements can supply them the body only uses what it needs at the time so a lot of it goes down the kazi mind.
Have you had any blood tests or advice from the GP that you are deficient?
If not a general multi vitamin should be all that is required with a vitamin D top up
I take Vitamin D in the winter. Seems to keep we alive.
I've never believed in vitamin tablets and I haven't been near a GP (or any other medical person, except the people who vaxxed me) for 15 years. I feel fine!
I am assuming that this question refers to people not requiring vitamins due to a medical condition e.g acute systemic disorder or malabsorption situations or are pregnant.

Accepting the above, nobody needs vitamin supplements.

There is a case for the over 65's taking Vit D3 particularly if they are housebound.

I cannot see any good reason for anybody taking Vit C as a supplement.

Bottom line is your money, your choice.
We both take Vitamin D3. I am virtually housebound now in the winter. I also take B12.
I'll have to disagree with sqad about vitamin D. It should be taken by anyone, irrespective of age, who doesn't get sunshine on bare skin on a regular basis. There are others, including magnesium that most people can't get sufficient amounts of. Due to modern farming methods, food is often not as nutritious as it was several generations ago.
I've taken supplements on & off over the years. But I tend to forget to take them after a while so it doesn't last. Usually not taking them.

Recently, though, I've been taking Zinc, D3, K2, B complex, and turmeric/curcuminoids. (They claim they will not just pass though me.) Should help prevent infection over the winter, I hope.
