Itchy Flakey Ears

for the past week or two, the inside of both my ears (the bit you can’t see but can put your little finger in) have been very itchy, and when I do put my little finger in to ease the itch, it comes out with a few white flakes on.
I’ve been using olive oil but it doesn’t seem to be helping.
Any ideas?

Earol. At Amazon .
Cotton bud (used very gently!) with 1% hydrocortisone cream (OTC) on, used for only as long as needed to stop the itch.
...Earol is 100% olive oil !
I know .
Hydrocortisone acetate cream should be used for a maximum of 7 days. If problem does not clear then consult your GP. I would never use a cotton bud in my ears.
Vagus, excuse me a moment please.
anne, I hope your little one is ok.
Oh……..x mozz
You know? So why did you recommend it when OP said it hasn't helped?
Many decades ago, I used warmed almond oil to soften ear wax. That seemed to be the most gentle oil to use.
The method f administration for earol is much more preferable than ear drops. The op could check them out .
Ooft….. choux. :-(
:) x
Vagus, I wonder if you have any soap residue in your ears after washing?
You could ask for advice at the local Pharmacy.
I’ve used Earcalm in the past as recommended by my Doctors, always worked for me. Available everywhere.
Something that anneasquith has not mentioned, about Earol, is that the bottle has a kind of injector/syringe on the top. You insert the end of the injector into the ear, then press it. The olive oil is thus projected well inside the ear, rather than just resting near the open end (if you see what I mean).
gingejbe 14.40 is correct.........all the rest are rubbish.

Thank you all.
I don’t have earwax just this blooming itch which I thought olive oil would help with if it’s caused by dryness. It didn’t.
I do have some hydrocortisone cream so will give that a go.
Sqad, you are advising cotton bud ?
anne....in this case of course.
What is the problem?
