I'm roasting a (small) ham joint and will be serving with a hoisin sauce and some jasmine rice - with a few steamed mange-tout as a green side-dish.

I've got a bottle of Yalumba Viognier in the chiller (although it doesn't need to be too cold) and may even have a glass of amontillado as an aperitif.

What's tickling your tonsils tonight?

I’m off for a steak at Hawksmoor
Char grilled vegetable pizza and a cup of tea.
Rib eye steak, with a cream, red onion and boursin sauce, steamed mange tout and some kind of pommes and mushrooms :)
No wine (someone is on antibiotics) and there had better be no whining either!
Venison tortellini with puttanesca sauce. Plus Pinot Grigio.

I love Hawsksmoor, Rocky - one of the few things I miss about London

I'm teetering on the brink of a course of antibiotics of the "no booze" variety - hoping that I don't need them - but having a good glass tonight, choux, whilst I still can!
Question Author
I like pizza, mamya - but my diminutive fellow diner is less enamoured - so it tends to be a treat when I'm out rather than a teatime staple at home.

Is that tortellini home-made, EdmundD - sounds lovely?
Sunny-dave - No not homemade.

Saw it in Waitrose today - thought we have to try that!! Venison and sloe gin.
Tagliatelle with tomatoes and ricotta. Something simple.
Followed by our Saturday evening bevvies!
Shell-on Argentinian red shrimp pan fried in butter with loads of garlic, chilli and sweet miso. Fine beans added at the end.
Co-op fairtraid Argentinian organic Malbec*

Auto correct kept telling me that should be 'males'... be still my heart. A lounge full of organic Argentinians is enough to take my breath away...
They'd eat all your shrimp!
I forgot my baked cherry toms - strange because they were the first to be done!
You forgot to eat the toms, Choux?
Duck Breast, pan fried with orange & port sauce. Served with baked red cabbage in cider and fondant potatoes. Fresh strawberries and home-made vanilla ice-cream for dessert. Probably a Pinot Noir with the duck and have a cheeky bottle of prosecco -Aldis best of course -for the dessert.
Beef (ribeye), left over from last night, in a green/watercres/cuc salad - home made dressing, the wine a Facon Grabado, a Malbec from Argentina. Raspberries and meringue to follow with a Cornish cream...
For you, Dave. Mr RR’s T-Bone. 850g, God knows how he got through it.

A salad with prawn cocktail and a Red Leicester, extra mature cheddar and balsamic Red onion flatbread followed by a Lemon fool.
I was knackered and starving when I get home from work so we ordered a pizza/wrap/fried chicken takeaway that didn’t arrive (was paying cash so not a biggie). Had to order a curry which didn’t arrive until 9 and the kids were starting to get hangry - all fed and happy now.
