morning all, i hope that you are well and have a pleasant day ahead, whatever you might be doing, I will watch the tennis i think, its been great so far. other than that no plans at all.
i watched the Pliskova v Sabalenka match, what a blast in more ways than one, both massive servers, big hitters, the battle of the titans. I hope that Ash Barty wins the title, but she has some way to go to beat Pliskova who seemed imperious.
I've been around, just doing more reading than posting. Good morning by the way.
I've read some interesting counter-arguments on the whole Denmark-were-robbed uproar and I fully support that it was a well-deserved England win.
I'm sick to death of other countries sticking their nebs in and of all the anti-English sentiment. For crying out loud, can't people just be pleased for us??
On another note, I've been awake since 2am. It's quite chilly outside but like a sauna inside this cottage. I lay on top of the bed all night in just underwear and woke up dripping at 2am. As soon as I step outdoors I cool down. I think it's fair to say this has been our least favourite accommodation and it's badly under-equipped. There's no freezer, not even a corkscrew. Even at home with no kitchen I feel we have better facilities.
Our in-laws are coming back in September and they're staying about three doors down from where we stayed last year. They hinted at us coming with them so I'll think about it.
England deserved their win - for the naysayers blow a bit fat raspberry.
see how you feel about going back in September. shame that the place is so hot that its made you uncomfortable. I find that at my flat sometimes, when we have good weather its a tad hot in here.
Sorry, Emmie. I posted all about my holiday on your Melatonin thread by mistake. My apologies.
Yes, this house could do with a little TLC. Looking at when it last sold in 2007 literally nothing has been done to the place. There is a very tiny WC on the first floor and there is a damp-like terrible and intense smell. OH reckons it could be the fan. The property we stayed in last year was lovely.
shame as there is little one can do, but not book the same place next time.
i would love to get away to my brothers but they have house guests, their daughter and her two children. as they are in the process of moving house and are staying at my brothers till the move goes through.
No we wouldn't stay here again. We had to open the bedroom window in the early hours and the seagulls were making such a racket that I decided to just get up.
Oh that's a shame, Emmie. If I had a spare room you could come and stay with me. There's so much to see and do where we live. Unfortunately all 3 of us are still in one room at the moment as the other bedrooms are full to the rafters with furniture and boxes. And of course we have no kitchen.... The kitchen people are coming to do the survey at 3pm on Monday. Honestly I can't wait to have it all done.
Hopefully as soon as your brother has room you can get there and get away from it all for a while.
the new house my niece is supposed to be moving to is being held up, not sure why. so they have 5 people living in a two bed cottage, so its a bit cramped. Perhaps i can get down there later in the year, but its lovely in the summer months as my brother and SIL have a beautiful garden suntrap and i can just chill out in it all day..
That sounds lovely, Emmie. In years gone by I would like to get out and explore in all weathers. These days I prefer to lie recumbent and just chill whilst the sun beats down on me or just sit and read a book (not many such opportunities, sadly, with a little person to chase around after).
brothers garden is massive and they have spent a lot of money on it - it looks perfect and is an spring/summer/autumn suntrap. I usually get a decent tan when i am there, i miss them too of course.
