those of you who've not yet been offered and / or are not yet eligible... ae any of you undecided as to whether or notyof will have the ab?
Im not yet eligible (46yo no co morbidities) It just feels weird to put a vaccine into my body when I am healthy with a good (as far as I know it) immune system. Ps I do get the need for those who are vulnerable to have it (my husb is cons vulnerable and had his a month ago)

Eve, I felt just like you about vaccines. I’ve been eligible for a flu jab for quite a few years but only had it last year because of the Covid outbreak. I’ve now had both my Covid vaccinations and despite my earlier reservations, I’m glad I have. I did it to protect myself, a husband who is in the extremely vulnerable category and others in the general population.

Knowing how quickly my SiL died after catching Covid and having a history of illnesses very like Jen's, I have been attempting to keep track of how she is doing. Your post here saying she was still in hospital sounded like good news to me, knowing what happened in our case. I hope and pray she wins her fight Tony. I didn't mean to upset you.
It's ok lb I'm just a bit vulnerable at the moment
Of course you are.
I'm off to bed now, best place for me I think!
Hope you manage to get some sleep Tony. Good night.
Nite nite lb
Anyone would be feeling low and vulnerable in your shoes just now Tony.

Take care and I hope all works out. x
I've had both my jabs now, following testing positive for Covid back in November.

I couldn't be happier.

I strongly urge EVERYONE to accept the vaccine.
I had mine today (before they run out of them - apparently). I’m a big baby (super, huge baby) but I did it to protect others as much as to protect myself.
If you knew any one who had been really careful but still caught covid and suffered badly and saw there pain you would allmost certainly be keen to get the vaccinne.
i had my first jab on 6th feb, i didn't think twice, my second is due end of aprii i think -
Am puzzled by the choice best answer. Theres no comparison between risks of covid and risk of vaccinne side effects. If its like Russian roulette it's like having a 100000 barrel gun with maybe 10000 covid bullets and 1 vaccine bullet
Maybe it's more of a worry for the younger age groups but us oldies are used to vaccinations - annual flu vax, shingles vax, pneumonia vax.

Just have the jab - no worries.
Stop being silly. Take the jab as soon as possible.
// but us oldies are used to vaccinations //
children get hammered in childhood - no punches pulled - you are a bad parent if you dont get MMR in the child

we had 50 cases ( measles) all completely avoidable.... one death I think

wakefield MMR and the DPT affair eighties dented confidence in vaccination - "this is DEATH for your child in a syringe!" and the gullible and stupid believed it
aided and abetted by a few moral bankrupts ( and hypocrites)

the section of the population most at risk ( from death) are the ones bucking the vaccination.

yeah I agree the russian roulette bit is in those who risk infection
and I havent even warmed up about the anti vaxxers
not much written about this that I can find
Risk aversion - which is going on here - research shows that er in risk aversion you make the wrong choice ( to avoid a lesser risk which is perceived greater)
which we kinda know already
I dont understand why people are frightened of having the jab, what's wrong with them are they all hyperchondriacs? Also I hope they dont expect everyone a else to keep restrictions in place to protect them.
many black/asian people haven't had the jabs yet, suspicion on their side undoubtedly plays a part. Lenny Henry has made a video with other black stars to try and persuade people to take up the jab
> It just feels weird to put a vaccine into my body when I am healthy

That's when to put a vaccine into your body.

In any case you don't only get vaccinated for yourself, you also get vaccinated for everyone else. The unvaccinated are the breeding ground for new variants of the virus, which will affect us all. Hence "nobody is safe until everybody is safe", which is why it's so important that other countries are vaccinated too.
I have had my first and looking forward to the second in a month or so.I cannot really understand any indecision given the number who have been ill or sadly died. However just beware that you may have a minor reaction for 24-36 hours I did but it soon passes.
I couldn't wait to get my jab and glad I had it done a few weeks ago.

A friend of mine has refused it due to medical grounds and posted about it on FB. They were given a lot of stick for posting.
