On side of nose ... quite red, dry and flaky. Doesn’t clear up, had it a couple of years now. Not sore, itchy, or spotty and doesn’t get any bigger. Around half an inch around. ... always very dry. Dermatitis? What. could I use to clear it up? Thanks all.

I'd try a little hydrocortisone cream, but don't tell them it's for your face.
HC 45 cream, but pharmacies aren't licensed to sell it for the face so send someone else to purchase it for you. Otherwise you will have to get to GP fort a prescription and if you pay it will be at least double the price on for a prescription.

So is it something I can buy over the counter? What shall I say it is for? I can always put makeup on my nose!!!
Yes, you can buy it otc from a pharmacy. Just gesture vaguely at your inside elbow and mutter eczema at them. You'll have too many layers on for them to bother to check.
I always say it is for my hip, something they will not ask to look at. When I have been really bad I send Mr U.
All a bit daft really...when you can buy 1% hydrocortisone cream from Amazon (and at a fraction of shop price)...it's exactly the same formulation too.
So you can....Pinewoods Bite and Sting relief seems to be it.
But be careful, as the first few are just moisturisers x
Tesco do 1% hydrocortisone cream labelled as bite and sting relief or similar and it's just in the pharmacy aisle, not even behind a counter.
I was going to say the same. I buy bite and sting relief hydrocortisone cream with my online groceries. I get the same kind of break out. I find that washing my face with a simple anti dandruff shampoo (not the kind that has moisturisers or anti frizz ingredients and so on) and then using the cream clears it up over 4 to 6 days.
Or, Numark...or Skincalm. Just make sure it has 1% hydrocortisone on the listing (it's usually called "bite and sting relief" cream...or similar).
I bought five 10gm tubes last year for about £7 and keep it in the fridge. It had a two/three year expiry date.
