first stop gp... phone for advice.
I only ask because my nephew recently done damage to his thumb. He'd previously dislocated it but this time it was much worse. About 6 weeks in plaster and numerous follow up appointments...
its serious if it is dislocated, time for medical advice from health care professional.
My daughter dislocated her elbow when she was little. It took a few minutes to fix.

Apparently it's a common injury in toddlers. Might need sedation though as it's painful.
Go to A&E if it is recent...last 24 hours.
If longer, then nothing other than monitoring the situation.
