it seems a lot of people are catching Covid in hospital, Chris, whatever the precautions

I can't blame Theland for being wary. The odds are still in his favour no doubt, but less than they would be for a younger man.
Hi theland... that's good.... but won't help pneumonia. If that is what they think is best, speak to them x
there doesnt seem much point seeking medical advice if you then arent going to take it :)

The Doxycycline should fight it.
Theland you are self diagnosing and self prescribing, you now full well that's not the best thing to do. You may well be correct but best have your diagnosis and treatment confirmed.
Why bother wasting everyone’s time (and adding to other people’s waiting time) if you’re not going to bother heeding it? You’ve been in this position a number of times and you’re not going to get magically better by just doing what you like.
I would suggest that it's considerably better to be alive in hospital (with a SMALL risk of contracting Covid-19) than to be dead at home (but at least without Covid-19).

Got taken into hospital with pneumonia, only just got my Android pad delivered courtesy of family.
Agreed a DNR with doctors.
On oxygen and drips and tablets.
Feel very down.
Well you're definitely in the right place anyway. One of the very small advantages of hospitals having had to deal with loads of Covid cases is that medical teams have had plenty of practice at sorting out breathing difficulties, so it's to be hoped that they can now use those carefully-honed skills to get your problems sorted out too.
Of course you feel down Theland, who wouldn't.

Try and rest as much as possible.
Sending cyber hugs for a speedy recovery.

My best wishes to you Theland, for a speedy & comfortable recovery.
You're being well looked after now, Theland. Try not to get too down, it's still early days. Hopefully, you'll turn a corner next few days. Best wishes to you. x

I need to dive right in to AB and catch up with news.
My word the world moves so fast, even a short time cut off from news feels unreal.
My very, very best wishes to you Theland - and I know you will not be offended if I put in some prayers for your recovery. Keep in touch.

Prayers most welcome jourdain. X
If you're catching up with what you've missed on AB, Theland, you could always take a look at last Friday night's BBC quiz thread. We missed you there!
