Em, once again you have ignored calmck @ 15.03 who has recommended Melatonin. You ignored him/her and also me the last time we both recommended it. Several others have also recommended it on AB. Our bodies make melatonin which helps us to sleep but as we get older we make less of it so this can be part of the reason why some struggle with insomnia. You can buy it from Biovea.co.uk and it's not expensive. A 1mg capsule does it for me but each to suit themselves. Oh and BTW, drinking coffee is not helping as it is a stimulant. And finally Em, you appear to have ignored all the advice suggesting you go to bed later than before 9pm. Look at it this way. Say you did get your desired 6 hours sleep that would take you to latest 3am. Why would you want to be getting up in the dark at 3am? Sorry, another finally, some exercise and fresh air would do you much better than nodding off, ordering stuff online and grumbling about your lack of sleep on AB.
Please don't be upset by this message, it's meant kindly. I am truly trying to help you. What have you got to lose by giving the above a try Em? You might find you feel a little less depressed, I do hope so.
And I hope you don't dismiss it as you are wont to do.
