Has anyone any experience of the remote controlled caravan movers? My husband has a heart condition and we're thinking of buying one of these. Are they easy to use?

We have a Truma which we would thoroughly recommend and haven't looked back since we purchased ours. We recommend purchasing the cross-activation kit as an optional extra to enable the wheel motors to be disconnectly singly from either side of the caravan should you wish to park it close to a wall. If you mention to Truma that you viewed their mover at the Caravan Show, you may get this kit free of charge - we did.

My husband gets the van out entirely on his own now without any help at all from me even though it has to be swivelled around and steered through a reasonably tight opening. It operates from a hand controller shaped in the mode of a caravan with four control buttons which operates the van forward, reverse, turn left and turn right, with the very slightest movement if necessary.

Also a piece of cake positioning the van when going onto a site. No effort at all is needed and I don't even go outside whilst he is getting the van out. Wishing your hubby good health and happy caravaning to you both.

We are caravanners and we have friends who have caravan movers. Two couples bought them because in each case the husbands had heart conditions and another other couple bought one because they had purchased a large twin axle caravan and wanted to be able to move the van easily. All of them are pleased with how they work. Not cheap but well worth the money they say.
My neighbour is now on his third - each time he has sold the caravan, he has sold the mover with it & then bought another. Watching the caravan being manoeuvered into their tight garage is quite something!
