Just wondered if trigger finger can get better on its own? It's worse at night and eases in the day. I wear a splint were I can, do gentle exercises for it and take turmeric. I've had it a couple of weeks now and I'm reluctant to go to the drs unless I really have to. Thanks for any advice :-)

The conservative measures you've undertaken will probably slow the progression of this condition, but ultimately it will probably require more invasive intervention, such as surgery. Only you can decide at what point you will need to seek further intervention.
Both my grandfather and my mum had cortisone injections which kept it at bay for a few years, but as LCG says, ultimately you will probably need the op.
I had a cortisone injection that worked really well but wore off after a few months had another which didn't work .my hand is swollen too so I am seeing a specialist but because of the virus appointments are delayed .
So have you had any actual professional advice? Can I suggest that if you haven't then you get some, and if you have and that advice hasn't worked, then you go back to the person who gave it? Maybe you GP is doing phone or online consultations? I can see why you wouldn't want to go to the surgery.
I had trigger finger once and it did go right on it's own. Can't remember how long I had it for or if I had injections, but I definitely didn't have an operation on it.
I agree with woody above, make sure that your diagnosis is accurate and is so ,I agree with the comments of LadyC plus might I suggest that you add Ibuprofen 400mgms at night.
No it will not get better myself.
Hooby, like Barsel Ive 'had' this, I dont have it now. The exercises of stretching the fingers back must of helped. Google trigger finger exercises.

Thanks to you all. I may give it a while longer then see the Dr if there's no change or if it worsens. I was planning that already but wanted other people's opinions and advice to reassure me. By the way, hi Sqad, it's been a year since the ear and I'm still not convinced it's totally gone. I was supposed to have seen a specialist but it was cancelled due to covid. I hope you are keeping well.
*have* even!
My wife tried to book an appointment at GP today for a steroid injection and was told that neither the surgery nor the hospital were currently administering these injections.
Hi! Hooby.......that sort of ear problem takes time to settle, but this is ridiculous and the sooner you see a Specialist, the better.
Yes, I am not too bad thanks..?........no big deal.

Oh, thanks Arrods. Well if I give it a while and need to go then maybe it will have changed by then. Fingers crossed ( no pun intended :-D )
surgeries and hospitals will set their own priorities, Hooby, so do try yours.
