Last night I was sitting as usual by the patio doors ,outside of which there two steps to the garden.

My wife asked if our cat was at the end of the garden on her favourite chair. I leaned sideways and fell out of the door, down the steps, chair as well.

Blood dripping on to the ground and feeling rather stupid.

Woke up today with pain everywhere, a black eye, swollen nose and scratched glasses.

Vision in my left eye a bit fuzzy.

Did I do the overdrinking bit in the heat of the afternoon ?

Did you pick yourself up, dust yourself down and pour yourself another? You'd certainly need a stiff drink after that..
All well and good but did you answer your wife? :-)

I did manage another drink or two. I think I frightened the cat off.

That's true Dunkirk spirit, that is...

I can’t for the life of me drink in the hot sun on a afternoon, I can take a small chilled Rose but anymore would see me in bed at 7pm, I remember the VE Day celebrations only too well, I can almost hear your dear wife telling you what an idiot you are haha
It sounds like you didn't quite drink enough, SparklyKid. That's if you can remember that your wife was thinking the cat is on her favourite chair.
I hate to think what you would be like on a Segway!

Sounds painful so take it easy.
