I have spent most of the day sorting out paperwork and shredding out of date stuff. I have reduced two boxes to one box so far. If it's hot again tomorrow, I shall have another go.
Nice to see the kites though, Bobbie.

They’re so graceful Tilly x
Lucky you Bobbi, I have never seen a red kite in the wild, only on film.
Question Author
We get quite a lot here Maggie , they were reintroduced back into Northumberland with great success
We have kites gliding around most of the day, in fact we see more of them than sparrows/blackbirds etc. Yes graceful, but quite frightening when several decide to swoop down into the garden one after the other. Young ones perch in the tree at the bottom of the garden.

Gingerbee, never had that, I’d faint as I have a terrible phobia of birds
Bobbi....they obviously look big while gliding around, but when they swoop down to ground level you realise just HOW big.
Bobbisox you should never have watched that Hitchcock film :-) x

I love seeing them above me, I’d run a mile if one was beside me, same as when I’m walking up a lane beside here and out struts a pheasant, I totally freeze haha

Barsel I remember when Mr B was out on a call one night ( BT) many years ago, he came in and I was engrossed watching THAT film where someone was sitting on a bench, he quickly turned the TV over and said “ have you any idea what you’re watching ? , I hadn’t :0(
We are very spoilt here. If we don't see several red kites and buzzards in a day it's unusual. They come to the garden and pick up the remains of dead bunnies I put out for them. They're awesome.
Maggiebee - closed at the moment but worth a visit When it re-opens

“ remains of the dead bunnies “:
Bleughhh
Well, we don't have red kites (although they were common when I picked up grandkids earlier this year from near Boston Spa) but we do, thank Heavens, have a pair of Buzzards. When we left France I was so upset to think that maybe we wouldn't see them soaring above, so it is wonderful to hear and see them now.

My prize goes to a young cock blackbird who dive-bombed me earlier in the year (when his mate was evidently sitting) by who, yesterday, pulled a worm out of the garden and ate it contentedly whilst not 3ft. from where I was planting lettuces! He is now trying to attack our mongrel terrier - who hasn't really noticed him!
^^^ 'but who
What's happened to your Red Kites then Jordain?

I'm amazed there are any live ones in Scotland. The game keepers shoot or poison them, to protect the grouse so they say, yet RK's are happy to eat carrion and worms and are too lazy to go after grouse.
Ladybirder, nothing happened to them so far as I know, but they are common in the Boston Spa area and until lockdown I used to drive there to pick up my grandkids from school every Monday.
