Are some getting mild symptoms of this virus and some are dying, it's obviously not just people with underlying health issues, now either, it seems.

People differ. Therefore the effect of the virus differs. There is a theory that some blood groups may be more susceptible than others; but there are probably loads of reasons for the different experiences.
