just got back from ASDA, only needed to get some cider and beer, plenty of everything except.....yep....bog roll. What is it with bog roll
I had to go to Tescos. There was much more on the shelves, but still no flour, yeast, eggs, UHT milk, toilet roll. Did manage to get butter and bread. There is more meat available too.

There seemed to be a number of people like me employing social distancing; but unfortunately a few morons who seemed to not bother and even a few families off for a stroll round the supermarket with the kids in tow.
The kids went earlier. Only thing missing was eggs.

(when I say kids, they're 24)

No, we found it worse, not in terms of queues or loads of people, just lots of empty shelves.
That was about 9.30 this morning, I believe deliveries were due later, the empty shelves due to Saturday shoppers.
We’re going to try again tomorrow about 11am.
Not allowed, I’m 73 sighhhhh :0/
very few people in there when I went.
I went to the local shop to get wine. Plenty of everything. Might have to brave a supermarket tomorrow.
Yes, I had to go into town, (medical reasons) it was like a Sunday, very few about - but those that were appeared in good form ~ and
all kept their distance.

what is it with loo roll? I mean is there a secret recipe or something? How did wiping your April become more important than food?
few people when I went. Typical items not available.
We went to Sainsbury's this morning and bought a pack of toilet rolls. We could have had two each but we bought just the one. Seemed a bit more stocked up. We did witness a row between two blokes who were upset about the two metres distance suggestion.
We went to our local Sainsbury's this morning during "Old fogey" hour. We noticed the heavies on the door refusing entry to two people who didn't look old enough - aged appearance or NHS ID seemed to be all that was required to gain entry. Last week I reported that the shop was far busier than usual; today it was really fairly quiet, as was the car park. We only wanted milk and a bit of veg and didn't notice any empty shelves, although we didn't pass the bog-rolls.
Yes I too would like to know what it is about loo rolls ???

Slightly quieter, but my local library is closing and that was missing a lot of books and the jigsaw section, usually fairly well stocked, was almost empty. Toilet rolls in the four shops I went to. I live on my own not in the age or vulnerable groups and I need to eat. I have enough for as long as milk lasts then I will go out again.
Mind the scaremongering nobs that you've accused everyone else of, anytime they mention the problems.
""If we had an international sign for panic it would be a traffic warning sign with a toilet paper roll in the middle.""

I'm in all day...the dog won't let me leave the flat.
Oh well...at least the sun is shining.
Yes- went for milk and fruit (bananas blueberries) and some chicken or fish. No meat/fish at all. Plenty of fresh milk. No fruit or veg either. Only kitchen roll where toilet roll usually is.
As I mentioned on another thread I tried social distancing but when I stopped at shelves people kept looking over my shoulder to see what I was looking at. And the young cash desk operator was handling cards and cash plus goods whilst eating crisps from a bag with bare fingers
I bought a few long-life milk (with good dates) I drink a lot
milk and have always had a few on standby just like the loo rolls.
lol
Hope you all have pleasant afternoon/evening
Went to Sainsbury's 8-9 'old gits' shopping hour. They asked our age at the door. It was very civilised everybody kept their distance and the shelves were fairly well stocked with fresh veg, fruit and meat. They had obviously had deliveries, although some things were still missing and only a few eggs left. It didn't appear to me that anyone was over buying, most people just buying one of each thing. We went a about 8.30 and when we left there was a lengthy queue of people waiting to get in. I heard from a friend whose daughter is a nurse that some NHS workers had had their identity passes stolen which is really despicable.
