When I dropped my partners script of a surgery today, asked if Jen could have Pneumonia jab, receptionist said no without an appointment which was a week away for an assessment, so rang surgery from my car outside, and spoke to nurse and she's getting it tomorrow. Flu jab will not protect against everything.

Well done.
I think doctors' receptionists are trained in a camp in the former East Germany.
In actual fact go receptionists don’t * make the rules * they do as the gps say .

No Eddie just an observation really, she fit's the NHS requirements for a Pneumonia jab and its a shame it wasn't done at same time as when she had flu jab done. Would have saved some time for them and us but hy ho. Doctors at our practice are only on £69K per year.
Our receptionists are super.
Our practice is very well run. I get letters sent to me to advise me of appointments and they send texts out to remind me to turn up.

I got my flu jab on Monday when I was in for something else.

Frankie's Vet is also very good, not that he would agree.
Susan ( Wolfe) what more do we need, a good gp and a good vet ? ;*)
>>> what more do we need, a good gp and a good vet ?

A good pub, of course!

I'm seeming like a complainer but my local surgery generally do a very good job, only had to report them to GMC once.
True woof , Chris I don’t drink alcohol .
Hmmmm...
Our receptionists are excellent. Very helpful.

Chris, woofgang and Annea at least you got good brandy before surgeon took your limb of then, but times move on.
Question Author
Chris vets earn even more for prescribing human drugs to our pets.
They do ?
Our receptionists are excellent. Always have a smile and are always helpful.
My boy gets Human drugs from the Vet, they are very cheap.

I would not report my doctor to the GMC unless it was something very extreme.
